Your role

Role accountabilities:

  • Arcadis offers the opportunity to work in the growing Energy Networks and Renewables team supporting the clients in the delivery of new connections and grid upgrades to help the UK Electricity Industry meet its Net Zero carbon reduction ambitions.
  • The candidate will use their skills and software to design and optimize high voltage cable systems for connection of Renewable generation and energy storage schemes and expansion of the Electricity Grid in the UK.
  • A key part of a cable design is route planning and development of solutions to cross challenging terrain in both urban and rural environments, recognizing natural barriers, for example, rivers or terrain, and industrial development barriers, for example existing water or gas pipes, railways, and roads, etc.  
  • An ability to integrate the electrical and physical design interdependencies is the key to success in this field.

About you

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Accepted degrees: MEng/MSc in Electrical engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering  
  • You will be graduating in 2024 or have recently graduated with at least a 2:2 in a relevant master's degree
  • You will demonstrate typical Arcadian skills including Resilience, Creativity, Analytical Thinking, and being a Team Player
  • You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to use your technical knowledge to influence and consult stakeholders.
  • Willing to travel and stay away from home when required (where possible the firm embraces virtual working)
