The Google Story

Google's fairly young history is traced to 1998 when a couple of Stanford PhD students, Sergey Brin and Larry Page, decided to establish Google. Six years after its inception, Google became a public limited liability company through an IPO. In 2015, Google was restructured as a subsidiary firm of Alphabet Inc. It was also the holding firm for the interests and internet properties of Alphabet.

Later in 2015, Larry Page ascended to the position of CEO of Alphabet Inc, while Sundar Pichai stepped into his former position as the CEO of Google. Four years later, Sundar Pichai also became the CEO of Alphabet. Google owns a wide catalogue of products and services, and many of them dominate their respective markets. Google's products and services include YouTube (video streaming platform), Maps (Navigation), Chrome (Web browser), Meet (Video Call), Hangouts (Chat), Gmail (Emails), Drive (Cloud Storage), Pixel (Smartphones), etc.

Google has consistently been on the list of the most valuable companies in the world. Google expanded into the UK market in 2003.
